In 2015, I had a near death experience, or as some might say, a rebirth. This experience opened up my eyes and I realized I have something to share with my children. I better get started. Life is a gift, life is fragile and so I got creating. My soul, a Pisces moon catcher, is what leads my art. It guides me to create joyful, playful, comforting and cathartic pieces. My hope for my art is to connect humanity. I realize that is a lofty dream, but my mama taught me, “leave it better than you found it.”
To me, life is about connections; a connection to people, animals and nature. Art is a tool to connect generation after generation of people. Art creates conversation or can evoke a similar feeling between two complete strangers. Art is like a time traveling roller coaster that allows you to travel to Moulin Rouge with Toulouse-Lautrec, to the Polynesian Islands with Paul Gauguin, to a diner with Edward Hopper and to the countryside with Vincent Van Gogh.
Art is our way to remember...
